Patrick Mahomes passed for two touchdowns and Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushed for two to help the Kansas City Chiefs roll to a 48-9 victory over the visiting Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday afternoon.
Mike Hughes returned a fumble for a touchdown on the Raiders' first offensive play to set the tone for Kansas City's sixth straight victory. Josh Gordon and Darrel Williams caught touchdown passes as the Chiefs (9-4) scored the game's first 35 points.
Kansas City forced five turnovers while sending the Raiders (6-7) to their fifth loss in the past six games. Hughes also forced two fumbles for the Chiefs and Tyrann Mathieu had an interception and a fumble recovery for Kansas City, which is allowing an average of 10.8 points during its winning streak.
Derek Carr completed 33 of 45 passes for 263 yards, one touchdown and one interception for Las Vegas. Hunter Renfrow caught a career-best 13 passes for 117 yards and one touchdown while notching his third straight 100-yard performance.
The Raiders were outscored 89-23 in two regular-season losses to Kansas City this season.
Derrick Gore added a late rushing score for the Chiefs, who had a 372 to 290 edge in total offense. Mahomes completed 20 of 24 passes for 258 yards.
Las Vegas' issues began on its first snap when Josh Jacobs rushed to his left and had the ball poked away by Jarran Reed. Hughes picked it up on the bounce and ran 23 yards for a score just 17 seconds into the contest.
Eleven minutes later, Mahomes hit Williams with a swing pass in the left flat and the running back took it 23 yards to make it 14-0.
Early in the second quarter, Edwards-Helaire scored on a 5-yard run to push the margin to 21. Gordon caught a 1-yard scoring pass with 6:17 left in the half.
The Raiders coughed up the ball again as Hughes forced Renfrow to fumble and Mathieu recovered at the Chiefs' 38-yard line with 4:58 left. Seven plays later, Edwards-Helaire scored from the 6 to make it 35-0 with 1:40 left.
Las Vegas got on the board on Daniel Carlson's 26-yard field goal as time expired in the half.
Harrison Butker kicked a 54-yard field goal to boost the Kansas City lead to 38-3 with 8:25 left in the third quarter. The Raiders reached the end zone with 3:29 left in the period when Carr tossed a 4-yard pass to Renfrow.
Kansas City's 10 fourth-quarter points included Gore's 51-run touchdown run with 7:19 left.
