Vikings 29, Redskins 26: Matt Asiata rumbled for three touchdowns, including the go-ahead score late in the fourth quarter, as host Minnesota spoiled the return of Washington quarterback Robert Griffin III.

Asiata gained only 26 yards on 10 carries but made the most of his chances with the three scores and a two-point conversion, accounting for all of the offense for the Vikings (4-5) aside from a second-quarter touchdown pass by Teddy Bridgewater. The rookie quarterback went 26-of-42 for 268 yards without a turnover while Greg Jennings led Minnesota's receivers with six catches for 76 yards.

Playing for the first time since dislocating his ankle in Week 2, Griffin went 18-of-28 for 251 yards with a touchdown, although he threw one interception and misfired for an open Pierre Garcon near midfield on fourth-and-6 in the waning minutes. DeSean Jackson racked up 120 receiving yards and a score while Alfred Morris scored two rushing TDs for Washington (3-6) as part of a 19-carry, 92-yard performance.

Griffin's first TD pass of the season - a 13-yard strike to Jackson midway through the third quarter - gave Washington a 17-14 edge and Kai Forbath tacked on a 26-yard field goal on the team's next possession before Minnesota went back in front on Asiata's 7-yard TD run early in the fourth. The Redskins promptly answered with Morris' 2-yard TD run to take a 26-21 lead, but their two-point conversion attempt failed, and that turned out to be a big play as Asiata dove into the end zone from 1 yard out for the decisive score with 3:27 remaining.

The Redskins went ahead 10-0 in the first minute of the second quarter as Morris scored untouched on a 14-yard run. The Vikings got on the board with under a minute left in the half on Bridgewater's 20-yard TD strike to Chase Ford and took their first lead when Asiata plunged in from 1 yard out early in the third.

GAME NOTEBOOK: There was some drama involving the Redskins prior to the game. First, two of their team buses crashed into each other on the way to the stadium, leaving some players shaken up but none seriously injured. Then, there was a protest outside the stadium involving thousands of people who were upset about the Redskins' refusal to change their team name. ... Vikings rookie RB Jerick McKinnon led his team with 54 rushing yards on 14 attempts. ... A pair of quality receivers had quiet afternoons, as Garcon was limited to three catches for 15 yards while Minnesota's Cordarrelle Patterson managed just one grab for nine yards.
