The Florida Gators needed only a few minutes to put away North Carolina A&T 104-54 Monday night in Gainesville, Fla.
After recording a season-opening win at Navy, Mike White won his first home game as Florida's head coach inside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center as the Gators improved to 2-0.
Florida scored the game's first five points, and when guard Brandone Francis-Ramirez made a layup with 15:15 to go in the first half, the Gators led 18-2.
Forward Devin Robinson's 3-point basket with one second left sent Florida into intermission with a 52-27 advantage.
The Gators continued to pound away from beyond the arc in the second half, finishing with 15 3-pointers. They shot 53.6 percent from the floor and 51.7 percent on 3-point attempts.
Robinson and guard DeVon Walker scored 15 points each to lead six Gators in double figures. Forward Dorian Finney-Smith added 14, while center John Egbunu had 13, guard Chris Chiozza 11 and Francis-Ramirez 10.
Florida had a 48-25 edge in rebounding, led by Finney-Smith's 10 boards.
Forward Bruce Beckford led the Aggies (0-2) with 16 points, and guard Sam Hunt had 13. North Carolina A&T shot 32.7 percent overall while making four of 16 3-point tries.
