Northwestern 86, Mississippi Valley State 64: Drew Crawford scored 26 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead the host Wildcats to their fourth straight home win.
Tre Demps scored a career-high 18 points off the bench Alex Olah had 18 points and four of Northwestern's seven blocked shots. Sanjay Lumpkin contributed 13 points and 10 boards for the Wildcats (6-5), who shot 53.7 percent from the floor.
James Currington led the Delta Devils (3-7) with 14 points and 13 rebounds. Leading scorer Anthony McDonald was limited to nine points on 2-of-8 shooting.
Crawford hit a 3-pointer with five seconds left in the first half to give Northwestern a 44-31 lead but DeAngelo Priar answered with one of his own at the buzzer to make it a 10-point game at the break. Cameron Dobbs buried one from beyond the arc 2:10 into the second half to pull the Delta Devils within nine.
The Wildcats kept the margin in double digits thereafter but were slow to pull away, and it was still an 11-point game when McDonald hit a 3-pointer with 9:06 to go. Crawford answered with a jumper, Lumpkin hit two free throws and Dave Sobolewski added two more to make it 70-54 and Northwestern cruised from there, making 16 straight foul shots at one point down the stretch.
GAME NOTEBOOK: McDonald scored at least 12 points in each of his first eight games but has produced six and nine in his last two, respectively. ... Dobbs made 4-of-5 3-pointers in producing 12 points off the bench. ... Northwestern has a 4-1 series advantage with home wins each of the last two seasons.
