OAKLAND, Calif. - Reserve swingman Andre Iguodala sent the game to overtime with a game-tying 3-pointer with 5.9 seconds remaining in regulation and the Golden State Warriors began the extra session with a 10-0 flurry, allowing them to outlast the Brooklyn Nets 107-99 on Saturday for an 11th straight season-opening run.
Power forward Draymond Green had a hoop and two assists in the game-winning burst as Golden State became just the 11th team in NBA history to open a season 11-0.
It wouldn't have happened without Iguodala's 3-pointer, which produced a tie at 97 after Nets power forward Thaddeus Young had given his team a three-point lead with 9.9 seconds left.
Brooklyn, which fell to 1-3 on its road trip and 1-9 overall, had two subsequent shots at a win, but point guard Jarrett Jack misfired on an 18-footer and center Brook Lopez failed to convert a lob right in front of the rim as time expired.
The Warriors won despite a 13-for-31 shooting effort from star point guard Stephen Curry, who led all scorers with 34 points. Curry missed 11 of his 16 3-point attempts.
Green recorded his second career triple-double with 16 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds for Golden State. Center Andrew Bogut chipped in a 10-point, 18-rebound double-double.
Jack led the Nets with 28 points, while Young had 26 points and 10 rebounds. Lopez finished with 18 points, and shooting guard Rondae Hollis-Jefferson pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds.
The Nets appeared to have the game in hand when they rebounded a Curry miss with 23.3 seconds left in regulation and leading 95-94.
But the Nets failed to get the ball across midcourt in eight seconds, turning the ball back over to the Warriors with still 15.3 seconds to go.
Brooklyn coach Lionel Hollins insisted he'd tried to call a timeout before the violation, but to no avail.
Jack deflected a Curry pass to Young, who was fouled with 9.9 seconds remaining. His two free throws upped the lead to 97-94, setting up Iguodala's 3-pointer that produced overtime.
The Warriors trailed 83-76 in the fifth minute of the final period before Curry, who had missed nine of his first 12 3-point attempts, buried a pair of 3's in an 8-2 burst that trimmed the Nets' advantage to 85-84 with 5:25 to go, prompting a Brooklyn timeout.
The break didn't stop the Golden State run. Curry penetrated the Brooklyn defense for a layup that gave the Warriors their first lead of the second half with 4:37 to go, and forward Harrison Barnes followed with a 10-footer that upped the lead to 88-85.
But the Nets rallied to retake a 91-90 lead on a pair of free throws by Jack with 1:45 to go, setting up the tight finish and, eventually, the overtime.
The Nets gave themselves a seven-point cushion headed into the fourth quarter thanks to a strong defensive effort in the third quarter, during which the Warriors shot just 34.8 percent.
Jack had nine of his 28 points in the period, including a buzzer-beating 8-footer off a steal that created the 77-70 margin at period's end.
The Warriors found themselves fighting an uphill battle, and staring at their largest deficit of the season, after Young burned them for seven consecutive hoops in a 36-21 start for the Nets.
Brooklyn shot 68.0 percent as a team in the first period and took advantage of Curry's 2-for-9 opening.
But getting 11 points from their reserves, the Warriors chipped away at the big deficit in the second quarter and eventually drew even before Young, fittingly, dropped in the last basket of the first half for a 54-52 Brooklyn lead.
Young had already surpassed his previous season-high of 18 points with 20 through two quarters.
NOTES: A moment of silence was observed along with the playing of the French national anthem before the game in memory of those who lost their lives in the terror attacks in France on Friday. The exterior of Oracle Arena was lit in red, white and blue as part of the tribute. ... The Warriors' decision to give SG Klay Thompson the night off came after he couldn't shake a stiff back at the morning shootaround. ... Warriors PG Stephen Curry finished the night with 1,248 3-pointers, three more than his dad Dell recorded in his NBA career. Dell Curry ranks 43nd on the NBA all-time list for 3s. ... Stephen Curry's 57 3-pointers are 14 more than the Nets have as a team. ... Asked before the game for the best way to deal with Curry, Nets coach Lionel Hollins insisted, "Get somebody to go in his locker room right now and put some handcuffs on him and hide him in a bathroom."
