Evan Longoria belted a homer to lead off the 11th inning, and the visiting San Francisco Giants overcame an eight-run deficit to post a 12-11 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday.

After striking out a pair of batters in a scoreless 10th inning, Jared Hughes (2-1) saw his 0-1 slider to Longoria deposited just inside the left field foul pole to begin the 11th.

The blast capped San Francisco's comeback from an 8-0 deficit, highlighted by Stephen Vogt's game-tying homer off closer Raisel Iglesias with two outs in the ninth inning.

Joe Panik launched a two-run homer, and Steven Duggar and Brandon Belt each had a two-run single for the Giants, who overcame a pair of three-run homers by Derek Dietrich to snap a seven-game losing streak in Cincinnati.

Reyes Moronta (1-2) worked around a leadoff walk and a wild pitch to strike out three batters in the 10th inning. Will Smith fanned two in the 11th to secure his eighth save.

Kyle Farmer had a solo homer, and Jesse Winker contributed three hits and two runs for the Reds, who saw their bullpen implode to cost starter Sonny Gray his first win of the season.

Nick Senzel, Cincinnati's top prospect who was called up from Triple-A Louisville earlier on Friday, went 1-for-5 with two walks and a run in his major league debut. He played center field.

Cincinnati wasted little time bolting out of the blocks versus San Francisco after mustering just one run in its previous two games against the New York Mets.

Dietrich deposited an 0-2 changeup from Tyler Beede over the wall in right field to give the Reds a 3-0 lead in the first inning. He highlighted a five-run third by sending a 1-0 fastball from Beede over the wall in right for his seventh homer.

The second blast made Dietrich the third Reds' player to hit multiple homers of at least three runs within the first three innings of game, joining Hall of Famer Joe Morgan (Aug. 19, 1974) and Jonny Gomes (June 12, 2010).

After Farmer's homer pushed Cincinnati's lead to 10-3, Wandy Peralta relieved Gray and ran into trouble. Duggar drove in his third run of the night with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning, and Vogt added an RBI double before Panik sent a 1-2 changeup from Peralta just inside the right field foul pole.
