NEW YORK -- Shortstop Ruben Tejada had a bases-clearing double in a seven-run bottom of the fourth inning and Matt Harvey pitched into the seventh inning but the New York Mets' 7-6 victory over the Miami Marlins on Sunday afternoon was marred by serious injuries to two key contributors.

Second baseman Daniel Murphy and center fielder Juan Lagares had RBI singles for the Mets, who improved to 7-0 at home and broke the previous record for home wins to start a season set in 1985. Left fielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis also had a bases-loaded walk and catcher Travis d'Arnaud added a run-scoring single after Tejada's double.

Harvey (3-0) and he was charged with four runs while allowing seven hits over six-plus innings. Harvey also struck out seven, including two against Miami left fielder Giancarlo Stanton.

Harvey's day ended at 84 pitches when he gave up an RBI single to shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria.

Jerry Blevins recorded two outs in the seventh before fracturing his left forearm. After Blevins was injured, d'Arnaud was hit by a pitch and diagnosed with a fractured right hand.

Alex Torres gave up a run on a wild pitch but struck out left fielder Christian Yelich for the final out. Buddy Carlyle started the eighth by loading the bases on three singles and giving up consecutive sacrifice flies to center fielder Marcell Ozuna and catcher J.T. Realmuto but kept the lead.

Jeruys Familia retired Stanton for the final out in the ninth and recorded his sixth save.

Unlike many of his starts before Tommy John surgery in 2013, Harvey had more than enough run support thanks to an impressive display by his teammates in the fourth.

After Miami starter Tom Koehler retired the first nine hitters on 27 pitches, New York came alive in the fourth as it sent 12 hitters to the plate.

The Mets tied the game on a bases-loaded single by Murphy, took a 2-1 lead on a single by Lagares and went up 3-1 on the walk by Nieuwenheis. New York busted it open when Tejada drove a 2-2 pitch to the left center field gap that landed out of the reach of Yellich's diving attempt in left.

That hit knocked out Koehler, who allowed seven runs and five hits in 3 1/3 innings.

Miami gave up its third seven-run inning of the season and fell to 3-10. Realmuto had a run-scoring groundout in the second and Stanton added an RBI single in the sixth before the Marlins came back in the late innings.

NOTES: Although RHP Matt Harvey started for New York, his name barely came up in manager Terry Collins' pregame press conference. There was only one question about Harvey and it was the fifth question. ... New York LF Michael Cuddyer had the day off from the starting lineup although he is hitting .440 in his last seven games. ... Collins also said that RHP Carlos Torres had Sunday off after appearing in seven of the previous nine games. ... Miami 2B Dee Gordon entered the game with 70 stolen bases since the start of last year and that is more than four teams including the Marlins. ... Marlins C Jarrod Saltalmacchia sat for the third time in four games. He is hitless in 11 at-bats on the road trip and has two hits in 25 at-bats with 12 strikeouts this season.
