Angels 5, Blue Jays 4: Kole Calhoun drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and C.J. Wilson remained perfect in the second half as visiting Los Angeles defeated Toronto for the second night in a row.
Wilson (16-6) surrendered four runs - three earned - on four hits through seven innings to improve to 7-0 in 11 starts since the All-Star break. Mark Trumbo added a mammoth two-run homer while Josh Hamilton had three hits for the second consecutive night.
Steve Delabar (5-3) took the loss in relief of knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, who allowed four runs on seven hits over 5 1/3 innings. Toronto has lost two in a row following a three-game winning streak.
Trailing 3-0, the Angels made it a one-run game in the second inning as Trumbo launched a Dickey offering into the restaurant in straightaway center field for his career-best 33rd homer. The teams traded single runs in the fourth before the Angels drew even on an Erick Aybar sacrifice fly in the fifth.
Calhoun's second RBI sacrifice fly of the night gave Los Angeles its first lead in the eighth, and the Angels bullpen made it stand up. Dane De La Rosa worked a perfect eighth inning and Ernesto Frieri set the Jays down in order in the ninth to secure his 32nd save.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Trumbo had hits in each of his first six at-bats of the series before flying out to right field in the fourth. He's 6-for-8 with two home runs in the first two games. ... Blue Jays OF Moises Sierra doubled twice, tripled and scored a pair of runs in defeat. ... Hamilton has eight hits in his last three games, raising his batting average to a season-best .247.
