White Sox 5, Marlins 3: Adam Dunn hit a two-run homer and Alejandro De Aza doubled in a pair as Chicago completed a three-game sweep of visiting Miami.
Alex Rios added an RBI single while Dayan Viciedo doubled twice and scored for the White Sox, who have won five of their last six to pull back to .500 at 24-24. Dylan Axelrod (3-3) allowed three runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings and Addison Reed struck out a pair in a perfect ninth to earn his 17th save.
Marcell Ozuna and Justin Ruggiano each recorded two hits, an RBI and scored a run as the Marlins dropped their fifth straight.
Dunn gave Chicago an early lead when he blasted a first-pitch fastball from Alex Sanabia (3-7) the opposite way over the wall in left for his 12th blast. Miami knotted it up on RBI singles by Ruggiano and Nick Green in the second, but De Aza came through in the bottom of the frame with his double into the gap in left-center.
Ozuna pulled the Marlins within 4-3 on an RBI groundout in the third, but Axelrod and four relievers combined to shut them down the rest of the way. Sanabia lasted only four innings and was charged with four runs on six hits.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Marlins have scored three or fewer runs in 13 of their last 14 games. … Chicago traded minor-league INF Drew Garcia to the Colorado Rockies in exchange for a player to be named. … The White Sox will host the Chicago Cubs for the start of interleague rivalry week on Monday while Miami visits Tampa Bay.
