White Sox 9, Twins 4: Adam Dunn belted a pair of two-run homers and had five RBIs as visiting Chicago won the rubber match of the three-game set.
Dayan Viciedo also homered for the second game in a row, Jeff Keppinger added a two-run double and Alex Rios had three hits and ran his hitting streak to 10 games as the White Sox amassed a season-high run total and piled up 36 hits in the series.
Dylan Axelrod (1-3) wriggled out of repeated trouble to earn his first victory. He went 5 1/3 innings and put two runners on with no outs three times, but managed to minimize the damage by permitting three runs on nine hits.
Eduardo Escobar homered, Jamey Carroll and Joe Mauer had three hits each and Josh Willingham collected two RBIs for Minnesota, which went 2-4 on its six-game homestand.
Twins right-hander Mike Pelfrey (3-4) allowed five runs on eight hits in four-plus innings, exiting after Dunn's RBI double in the top of the fifth. Carroll had an RBI single in a two-run sixth as Minnesota cut the deficit to 5-4, but Keppinger provided insurance with a two-run double down the left-field line before Dunn swatted his third homer in two games.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Mauer had his seventh three-hit game of the season, tying for the major-league lead, and has hit safely in 14 consecutive games. ... Dunn's two blasts gave him 415 for his career, moving him past Darrell Evans and into 47th place on the all-time list, and marked the 35th time he had a multi-homer game. ... Twins 1B Justin Morneau celebrated his 32nd birthday by going 2-for-5 and extending his hitting streak to 11 games. He has a hit on each of the last six birthdays in which he's played.
