Orioles 6, Rangers 1: Nolan Reimold hit a three-run homer and Wei-Yin Chen pitched seven solid innings in his first start since May 12 as host Baltimore cooled off Texas.
Manny Machado had three hits, including an RBI triple, and Brian Roberts also drove in a run for Baltimore, which defeated Texas for only the third time in the last 15 regular-season meetings. Chen (4-3), who was out with a right oblique strain, yielded one run and three hits.
Adrian Beltre drove in a run and extended his hitting streak to 12 games for the Rangers, who lost for only the second time in their last 10 road games. Josh Lindblom (1-3) yielded six runs, nine hits and walked four in 5 1/3 innings.
The Orioles scored twice in the third inning when Machado delivered a one-out RBI triple into the left-center field gap and scored on a wild pitch with two outs.
Baltimore broke it open in the fourth inning on Roberts' RBI single and Reimold's blast, which landed just inside the left field foul pole. Roberts was robbed of a home run by center fielder Engel Beltre, who got a glove on it to keep it in the park as the runners on first and second held up thinking it would be caught.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Baltimore is 50-42. The Orioles last won 50 games before the All-Star break in 1997 and this marks only the third season since that they will hit the break with a winning record. ... Lindblom, who was making a spot start, is 0-3 with a 6.33 ERA in five starts this season. ... Baltimore All-Star 1B Chris Davis, who is hitting .310 and leads the majors with 33 home runs, is 1-for-24 (homer) with 13 strikeouts in his last seven contests.
