Mike Miles scored 15 points as No. 21 TCU used a dominating first half to set the table for an easy 88-43 victory over hapless Mississippi Valley State on Sunday afternoon in Fort Worth, Texas.

The Horned Frogs (9-1) put on a clinic in the first half, building a 33-point lead behind a balanced offensive attack, hot 3-point shooting, unselfish play and stout defense. TCU was not nearly as sharp after halftime but Mississippi State still struggled, scoring four points and making just one field goal over the first 12:17 of the second half.

TCU has won seven straight games, with a one-point loss at home to Northwestern State on Nov. 14 its only blemish. JaKobe Coles and Damion Baugh added 12 points each and Emanuel Miller hit for 11 for the Horned Frogs, who shot 48.4 percent from the field.

Rayquan Brown led Mississippi Valley State (1-12) with 16 points. The Delta Devils, who shot 38.3 percent, have lost eight straight games.

The Horned Frogs burst away from an 8-8 tie three minutes into the game with a 13-0 run capped by a jumper by Coles with 14:02 left in the first half. TCU really turned it on from there, rolling away by scoring 23 of the next 31 points to assume a 44-16 advantage on Souleymane Doumbia's layup with 3:52 to play in the half.

TCU finished half emphatically with a Miller alley-oop dunk and a Micah Peavy 3-pointer to cap a 9-4 run and a 53-20 advantage at the break.

Miles led all scorers with 11 points in the half as the Horned Frogs sent 10 players to the floor and all of them scored at least two points.

TCU outshot Mississippi Valley State 59.4 percent to 34.6 percent, including a 9 of 14 showing from beyond the arc, and forced eight turnovers that it turned into 16 points in the half. The Horned Frogs' reserves scored one point less than the entire Delta Devils squad over the first 20 minutes of play.

Alvin Stredic paced Mississippi Valley State with six points before halftime.
