Georgia 58, Mercer 49: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 17 points as host Georgia snapped a three-game losing streak.

Charles Mann added 10 points and the Bulldogs (3-7) made their free throws down the stretch to win for only the second time in nine games and beat Mercer (6-6) for the 16th consecutive meeting.

Anthony White Jr. scored nine points and Daniel Coursey added eight to pace the Bears in a matchup of two teams that rank among the bottom 40 nationally in scoring.

Mercer opened the second half on a 7-0 run to move in front 27-26 but the Bulldogs responded with seven straight points before Sherrard Brantley buried a pair of 3-points to give Georgia a 39-31 lead with just under 12 minutes left.

A jumper by Langston Hall cut the deficit to 47-43, but Caldwell-Pope and Mann each canned a pair of free throws before a dunk by Mann gave the Bulldogs their biggest lead at 53-43 with 3:24 to play.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Georgia finished 13-of-16 from the free-throw line, including six straight down the stretch. The Bulldogs went 20-for-37 from the stripe in an overtime loss to Iona last time out. ... Mercer shot 31.4 percent overall (16-of-51) and connected only 6-of-26 3-point attempts in failing to reach 50 points for the fourth time this season. ... Brantley's back-to-back 3-pointers in the second half doubled his point total from the previous four games combined.
