Dodgers 8, Blue Jays 3 (10): Mark Ellis hit a tiebreaking two-run homer to highlight a five-run 10th inning as visiting Los Angeles won its sixth straight game and completed a sweep of struggling Toronto.
With Juan Uribe aboard, Ellis belted a fastball from Juan Perez (1-2) into the second deck in left field for his first home run since June 25. Yasiel Puig followed with a solo shot and Andre Ethier added a two-run double to make a winner out of Brandon League (5-3), who worked two scoreless innings.
Brett Lawrie had a pair of RBIs to pace Toronto, which dropped its season-high seventh straight game. Ethier collected four hits and went 8-for-16 in the series for Los Angeles, which won its 10th straight road game - the longest in franchise history since an 11-game run by the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1955.
After Uribe opened the scoring in the second inning with a sacrifice fly to center field, Puig increased the advantage in the third with a double off the left-field wall that brought home Carl Crawford. Lawrie drew Toronto even in the fifth, doubling off the base of the wall in center to score Colby Rasmus and Maicer Izturis.
An Adrian Gonzalez throwing error put Toronto ahead in the eighth,
but the Dodgers drew even on a bizarre play in the ninth. With Puig
on first base, Ethier lined a single that landed in front of
center fielder Rasmus and bounced over his head, allowing Puig to
scamper home.
