Giants 7, Mets 2: Pablo Sandoval belted a two-run home run in the first inning and rookie catcher Hector Sanchez hit his first major-league home run and drove in three runs to help the Giants finish off a doubleheader sweep to take three of four at Citi Field.
Sandoval slammed a two-run blast in the upper deck in right against Mets starter Dillon Gee (1-2), providing all the support Giants starter Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco bullpen needed.
Bumgarner (3-1) allowed one run on three hits over seven innings to win his third straight start.
Sanchez had a sacrifice fly in the first and added a two-run blast to right in the seventh.
Gregor Blanco also had a two-run double for the Giants, who have won five of their last six, all against the National League East.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Sandoval has hit safely in all 16 games this season, the longest active hitting streak in the National League. … Giants OF Nate Schierholtz went 3-for-5 and had three hits in each game of the doubleheader.
