Jamie Benn had two goals and an assist, all in the third period, as the Dallas Stars recorded a 4-1 win over the visiting Arizona Coyotes on Monday.
The Stars won their seventh consecutive game, tying a franchise record. They also have won their past eight games on home ice.
Alexander Radulov had two assists for the Stars, while Roope Hintz and Jacob Peterson scored the other two Dallas goals. Braden Holtby made 18 saves for the win.
Shayne Gostisbehere scored for Arizona, and Scott Wedgewood stopped 23 shots.
With the score tied 1-1 at the 9:01 mark of the third period, Radulov and Benn set up Peterson for the go-ahead goal.
Benn then took control himself, scoring his first goal at 15:14 during the final moments of a Dallas power play. Less than two minutes later, Benn forced a turnover and then converted a tremendous pass from Radulov.
It was Benn's first three-point game of the season, and it snapped a streak of five consecutive games without a point for the Stars captain.
The Stars' third-period surge spoiled what had been one of the Coyotes' better defensive efforts of the season, as the team rebounded well from a 7-1 rout at the hands of the Vegas Golden Knights in its previous game.
However, the loss drops Arizona to 1-5-0 in its past six games, including defeats in each of the past three games.
Monday's game marked the end of the Stars' NHL record of four consecutive games with a goal scored in the opening 75 seconds, as Dallas didn't strike until Hintz's tally 13:48 into the first period.
All 11 of Hintz's goals this season have come in the forward's past 11 games.
Dallas has beaten Arizona twice this season and is 13-1-0 in its past 14 games against the Coyotes, dating back to the 2015-16 season.
