Center Tyler Davis posted a double-double to lead Texas A&M past Southeastern Louisiana 100-58 Monday night at Reed Arena in College Station, Texas.
Davis scored 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to power the Aggies (2-0).
Texas A&M got a ton of production out of its centers, as Tonny Trocha-Morelos added 12 points and five assists.
The Aggies used a 16-2 run in the first half to take control. Guard Danuel House (game-high 20 points) paced the surge with a 3-pointer and a pair of free throws as Texas A&M went ahead 25-11. The Aggies held Southeastern Louisiana scoreless for three minutes during the sequence.
Later in the first half, Texas A&M guard Admon Gilder (14 points) completed a three-point play and made a layup, and House added a 3-pointer during an 8-0 run. That gave the Aggies a 46-22 lead with 2:24 left before halftime.
House hit six of the Aggies' 14 3-pointers as the team shot 56 percent from beyond the arc. Forward DJ Hogg pumped in 11 points to give Texas A&M five players in double digits.
Texas A&M hammered the Lions on the boards, outrebounding Southeastern Louisiana, 49-26.
Reserve guard Marlain Veal led the Lions (0-2) with 10 points.
