No. 2 Gonzaga 81, San Francisco 70: Kyle Wiltjer had 29 points and 11 rebounds as the visiting Bulldogs withstood an upset bid by the Dons to extend their winning streak to 17 games.

Kevin Pangos added 17 points and Byron Wesley had 12 for Gonzaga (24-1, 12-0 West Coast Conference), which shot 50 percent and handed the Dons their fifth straight loss. The Bulldogs won the battle of the boards 37-22 and were 23-of-30 from the foul line compared to 9-of-13 for the Dons.

Mark Tollefsen scored 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting and Corey Hilliard added a career-high 13 off the bench for San Francisco (9-16, 3-10). Kruize Pinkins chipped in 11 points for the Dons, who lost their sixth straight to Gonzaga despite shooting 50 percent – including 9-of-15 from 3-point range.

Wiltjer scored nine points in the first half, which ended with the game tied at 38 following Tollefsen’s jumper at the buzzer. Gonzaga used an 11-1 run to move ahead 66-56 with just under nine minutes left, but the Dons answered with seven of the next nine points, including 3-pointers by Devin Watson and Chris Adams.

After Tollefsen drained a 3-pointer to pull San Francisco within 73-68 with 1:39 remaining, the Dons’ Matt Glover was called for a technical foul for shoving Pangos and the Bulldogs quickly took control with eight straight points. Wiltjer was 10-of-18 shooting and made three 3-pointers for Gonzaga, which outscored the Dons 26-15 in the final 11 minutes.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pangos was 5-of-9 shooting – including 3-of-7 from beyond the arc - and moved into seventh place on the school’s all-time scoring list. … Gonzaga improved to 105-18 under coach Mark Few in the month of February. … Domantas Sabonis grabbed nine rebounds for Gonzaga, whose winning streak is the school’s longest since the 2005-2006 team won 20 in a row.
