Penn State 84, Monmouth 52: Tim Frazier set the pace with 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists as the Nittany Lions breezed past the visiting Hawks.
Allen Roberts had 17 points off the bench while D.J. Newbill collected 15 and nine boards for Penn State (5-1), which picked up its fourth straight win. Ross Travis chipped in 11 points as the Nittany Lions dominated the second half 44-22.
Josh James was the only player in double figures with 12 points as Monmouth (1-4) struggled to 35.6 percent from the field in its fourth straight setback. Leading scorer Deon Jones was held to five points for the Hawks.
Roberts had 10 points and Newbill knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the first half as Penn State went into the break with a 40-30 edge. Monmouth scored the first three points after the break but went cold from there as the Nittany Lions took control.
Frazier scored six points during an 18-0 run and Graham Woodward capped the burst with a 3-pointer. Frazier scored five straight points to push the lead to 77-41 with 5:20 left before Penn State cleared the bench.
