Mississippi 81, Louisiana State 67: Marshall Henderson scored 22 points and the Rebels snapped a five-game road losing streak with a victory over the Tigers in the teams' regular-season finale Saturday.
Mississippi (23-8, 12-6 SEC) got 16 points and eight rebounds from Murphy Holloway and 15 points and six assists from Jarvis Summers. Henderson finished with five steals while Holloway had three as the Rebels forced 15 LSU turnovers and wrapped up the No. 3 seed in the SEC tournament.
The Tigers (18-11, 9-9) were paced by 18 points from Andre Stringer, who hit four 3-pointers. Johnny O'Bryant III added 17 points and 12 rebounds while Anthony Hickey chipped in 10.
LSU jumped out quick, leading 21-13 with 11:54 to play in the first half. But the Rebels responded with a 19-2 run over the next 7:01, including six points by Holloway, to take a 32-23 lead.
Ole Miss scored the last six of the first half to take a 13-point advantage, then upped the lead to 16 in the first minute of the second half. The lead was as big as 18 before the Tigers cut it to nine with 1:38 to play, but LSU couldn't get any closer.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Rebels finished shooting 52.5 percent from the floor, including 41.7 percent from 3-point range. … LSU G Charles Carmouche had a four-game run of 20-point games ended, scoring eight on 3-of-9 shooting. … Mississippi won the board battle between two of the top four rebounding teams in the SEC, 40-33.
