No. 18 New Mexico 60, Boise State 50: Cameron Bairstow scored 16 points as the host Lobos pulled away late to remain in first place in the Mountain West Conference.

Tony Snell added 12 points and Jamal Fenton scored 11 for the Lobos (22-4, 9-2 MWC), who improved to 13-1 at home. They own a half-game lead on Colorado State, their next opponent.

Derrick Marks was the only Boise State player in double figures with 19 points. The Broncos (16-8, 4-6) never led after Snell hit a 3-pointer with 13:25 left in the first half and were held to a season-low point total.

Marks scored five straight to cut the Lobos' lead to 16-15 with 8:07 left but Kendall Williams answered with a 3-pointer. Bairstow then scored nine of the Lobos' last 10 points on the way to a 29-23 halftime lead.

Anthony Drmic's 3-pointer and Marks' jumper with 5:23 cut the lead to 47-46 but New Mexico went on 8-0 run over the next 4 1/2 minutes to put the game away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New Mexico is 69-2 under coach Steve Alford when holding an opponent under 60 points. ... Boise State entered the game leading the MWC with a 74.9-point scoring average. ... Boise State's Jeff Elorriaga, the league's leading 3-point shooter at 46.1 percent, hit 1-of-9.
