Despite a spirited second-half rally from Oregon, California ran its Pac-10 winning streak to three games with an 85-77 victory at Haas Pavilion on Saturday.
Mark Sanders-Frison and freshman guard Allen Crabbe scored 18 points each for the Golden Bears, who had four players score in double figures and improved to 12-9, 5-4 Pac-10.
Joevan Catron scored a game-high 22 points with eight rebounds and five assists for the Ducks, who rallied in the second half after the Golden Bears raced ahead to a big lead in the first half.
A 3-pointer from Jeff Powers gave the Golden Bears a 29-11 lead with 11:50 remaining in the first half. But the Ducks (10-11, 3-6 Pac-10) closed the deficit to 47-35 at halftime and spent the second half chasing down Cal.
Catron scored six points during an 11-2 run that brought the Ducks to within 64-63 with 7:08 remaining. They would never get that close again.
Jorge Gutierrez scored 17 points and Harper Kamp added 13 points for the Golden Bears.
Oregon's Malcolm Armstead scored 16 points off the bench, followed by 14 from Tyrone Nared.
