Mike Tisdale and D.J. Richardson scored 15 points apiece to lead five players in double figures as No. 21 Illinois topped No. 24 Gonzaga 73-61 Saturday in the Comcast Battle for Seattle.
Illinois (7-1), which led 34-28 at halftime, was 24 of 54 (44.4 percent) from the field, including 12 for 23 (52.2 percent) from 3-point range.
Tisdale and Richardson also had five rebounds apiece. Brandon Paul scored 12 points, followed by 11 points and seven assists from Demetri McCarney and 10 points and six rebounds from Mike Davis.
Gonzaga (3-3), which was 3 for (18.8 percent) from 3-point range, outrebounded Illinois 37-24. Robert Sacre led the Zags with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Elias Harris scored 12 points and Steven Gray scored 10.
