Kevin Love had 37 points and 23 rebounds and rookie Wesley Johnson made two late defensive plays to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 126-123 victory over the visiting Golden State Warriors on Sunday.
Johnson blocked Monta Ellis’ driving shot with 3.1 seconds left to preserve a one-point lead. Anthony Tolliver added two free throws and Johnson made a steal to keep the Warriors from getting off a final 3-point shot.
Love posted his 46th consecutive double-double to help Minnesota (14-46) break a seven-game losing skid. The 20-rebound game was Love’s ninth of the season.
Stephen Curry had 33 points and 11 rebounds while Dorell Wright scored 26 points for Golden State (26-32).
The Warriors, who once led by 14 in the second, trailed by 15 points entering the final quarter and trimmed the lead to 119-118 on Curry’s 3-pointer with 3:30 remaining.
Johnson had 17 points, seven rebounds and four steals while Michael Beasley scored 25 points for Minnesota.
David Lee had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Ellis had 20 points, eight assists and six steals for the Warriors, who lost their third straight game.
