Christian Yelich homered twice and Mike Moustakas went deep once Monday, as the visiting Milwaukee Brewers broke a four-game losing streak with a 9-7 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Brewers also got three RBIs from Trent Grisham and RBI singles from Eric Thames and Orlando Arcia in ringing up 13 hits.
Pablo Reyes hit a pinch-hit, two-run homer; Bryan Reynolds added a solo shot; Kevin Newman hit a three-run double and Starling Marte added an RBI triple for the Pirates, who have lost three straight.
Milwaukee starter Jordan Lyles (7-7), acquired from Pittsburgh eight days previously, pitched five innings. He gave up three runs (one earned) and two hits, with one strikeout and two walks. Josh Hader got the final four outs for his 25th save.
Pittsburgh's Dario Agrazal (2-3), making his eighth big-league start, allowed five runs and eight hits in five innings, with one strikeout and two walks.
With two outs in the first, Yelich homered to left-center to open the scoring.
Moustakas was robbed of a probable homer in the second when Reynolds made a leaping grab above the wall in left. With another crack at it in the fourth, Moustakas hit his 27th homer, a shot to right for a 2-0 lead. Later that inning, Lyles' bases-loaded groundout made it 3-0, and Grisham followed with a two-run single.
Reynolds led off the bottom of the fourth with a homer to right, his 10th of the season to cut it to 5-1.
In the fifth, Newman reached on Brewers second baseman Keston Hiura's error with one out. An out later, Reyes homered to left -- his first of the season and the fourth of his career -- to close it to 5-3.
Moustakas reached on second baseman Adam Frazier's error to open the eighth, went to second on Lorenzo Cain's single and scored on Thames' single for a 6-3 lead. Arcia followed with an RBI single. Grisham's sacrifice fly later that inning made it 8-3.
After two walks and an infield single, Newman hit a two-out double in the eighth to close it to 8-6.
Yelich opened the ninth with a blast to right to make it 9-6 and give him 39 homers, tops in the major leagues.
Marte hit an RBI triple in the ninth.
