Rhys Hoskins went 2-for-4 with a home run, lifting the Philadelphia Phillies past the host Milwaukee Brewers 6-4 on Friday in the opener of a three-game series.

Andrew McCutchen and Scott Kingery each added two hits, including an RBI double for each, to help the Phillies win for the sixth time in eight games.

Phillies starter Jerad Eickhoff lasted only three innings as he allowed five hits and four runs. Vince Velasquez (2-2) tossed two scoreless innings, and the Philadelphia bullpen blanked Milwaukee for six innings.

Hector Neris struck out the side in the ninth for his ninth save in nine chances.

Orlando Arcia and Christian Yelich each homered for the Brewers, who got two hits apiece from Ryan Braun and Yasmani Grandal.

Brewers starter Chase Anderson lasted four innings, giving up six hits and three runs. Freddy Peralta (2-2) was charged with two runs in two innings.

The Phillies took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Bryce Harper lofted a sacrifice fly to left field, scoring McCutchen.

Milwaukee tied the game at 1 in the bottom of the first when Braun singled with two outs and Mike Moustakas followed with an RBI double to right.

Philadelphia got consecutive doubles by Cesar Hernandez and Kingery with one out in the second to take a 2-1 advantage.

Arcia blasted a solo homer to straightaway center to tie the game at 2 in the bottom of the second.

Yelich hit his 20th home run of the season, a solo shot in the third, for a 3-2 Brewers lead. Later in the inning, Grandal contributed an RBI double to score Moustakas for a 4-2 lead.

In the fourth, Maikel Franco reached on an infield single to score Rhys Hoskins with the Phillies' third run.

Harper doubled home Jean Segura to equalize the score at 4 in the fifth.

McCutchen lofted an RBI double off the wall in left to score Kingery from first for a 5-4 Phillies lead in the sixth.

Hoskins ripped a solo homer to center in the seventh for the game's final run. It was his 12th home run of the season.
