Orioles 4, Rangers 2: Chris Tillman allowed two runs in eight-plus innings as visiting Baltimore completed a three-game sweep and extended its winning streak to four.
Matt Wieters, J.J. Hardy and Brian Roberts each had two hits and an RBI as the Orioles moved a season-high 13 games over .500 with their seventh win in their last eight, including five victories over slumping Texas.
Tillman (12-3) matched his longest outing of the year, striking out seven and allowing six hits to win for the ninth time in his last 10 decisions and improve to 7-1 on the road. Adrian Beltre's leadoff homer in the ninth chased Tillman and Darren O'Day recorded the final two outs to earn his second save to send the Rangers to their fourth straight defeat.
The Orioles pushed across a pair of runs in the second against Martin Perez (3-3) on RBI singles by Wieters and Roberts, a rally that started when David Murphy lost Chris Davis' leadoff fly ball in the sun for a double. Perez was charged with four runs and nine hits in 6 1/3 innings.
Two-out doubles by Wieters and Hardy plated another run in the third before Manny Machado's RBI single in the fourth extended the lead to 4-0. The Rangers got on the board on Ian Kinsler's run-scoring single in the fifth, but Murphy was caught in a rundown on the play to end the inning.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Wieters went 6-for-12 in the series and extended his hitting streak to four games. ... Rangers CF Leonys MartÃn was hitless in three at-bats and is 1-for-18 in his last five games. ... The Orioles continue their road trip when they open a four-game series at Kansas City on Monday while the Rangers welcome the New York Yankees for a four-game set.
