Troy Tulowitzki had four RBIs and the Colorado Rockies rallied with five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to record a 9-7 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday.
In a back-and-forth game at Coors Field, Colorado capped its five-run rally on Jason Giambi’s bases-loaded walk off Mike MacDougal, who has allowed seven of his last eight inherited runners to score.
Scott Elbert (0-1) suffered the loss after taking over for Clayton Kershaw with no outs in the seventh.
The Rockies' Rafael Betancourt (2-0) earned the win with a scoreless eighth inning. Huston Street worked around Andre Ethier's double in the ninth for his 18th save of the season.
After scoring just 21 runs in their last 10 games, the Rockies exploded for nine runs on 11 hits on Thursday. Colorado sent 11 batters to the plate in the bottom half of the seventh.
Matt Kemp blasted his National League-best 18th home run and came within a single of hitting for the cycle. He went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and became the ninth player in team history to have a double, triple and home run in the same game.
