Red Wings 3, Oilers 2 (OT): Pavel Datsyuk ended his 11-game goal-scoring drought at 3:39 of overtime as visiting Detroit rallied to halt its three-game winless streak.
After receiving a pass from Johan Franzen, Datsyuk used a deke in the slot to get around Edmonton defenseman Jeff Petry before beating Devan Dubnyk with a wrist shot from the inner edge of the left faceoff circle. The goal was Datsyuk's first since Feb. 19 against Nashville.
Defenseman Niklas Kronwall recorded a goal and an assist, Valtteri Filppula also scored and Jimmy Howard made 30 saves for the Red Wings, who completed a sweep of the three-game season series between the clubs and improved to 11-0-2 in their last 13 meetings with the Oilers.
Taylor Hall scored a goal and set up another, Sam Gagner also tallied and Dubnyk turned aside 25 shots for Edmonton, which was beginning a four-game homestand after going 3-4-2 on its franchise-record nine-game road trip.
Hall gave Edmonton the lead just over 3 1/2 minutes into the game and Gagner tapped in the rebound of rookie Nail Yakupov's shot while on the doorstep with 3:42 remaining in the second period for a 2-0 advantage.
