Texas A&M 73, McNeese State 60: Jamal Jones had 16 points and led an Aggies 3-point barrage in a victory over the visiting Cowboys.

Jones had four of Texas A&M's 10 3-pointers as the Aggies (8-2) shot 45.5 percent from beyond the arc. Kourtney Roberson had 14 points and Alex Caruso added 13 points and a game-high seven assists.

Desharick Guidry's 17 points paced McNeese State (2-7), which fell to 0-7 on the road. Keelan Garrett had 13 points in a reserve role while Ledrick Eackles chipped in nine points.

McNeese State kept pace with Texas A&M early on - getting back-to-back Eackles 3-pointers to make it a two-point game midway through the opening half - but Fabyon Harris and J-Mychal Reese connected from long range on consecutive possessions to stretch the Aggies' lead to five. Caruso and Jones each added a pair of 3s later in the half, and Texas A&M held the Cowboys scoreless over a 4:47 stretch to carry a 44-31 advantage into the break.

A Guidry jumper off a Garrett miss made it an eight-point game with 10:24 remaining, but Caruso and Harris countered with three-point plays on back-to-back possessions to make it a 57-44 game. Roberson added a two-handed dunk off a Caruso feed with 4:08 left, and the Cowboys didn't threaten the rest of the way.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Eackles, who finished 3-of-11 from the field, has shot under 40 percent in six of his first nine games. ... Texas A&M finished with 19 assists on 25 made field goals. ...
