Kendrick Nunn scored a season-best 28 points off the bench and grabbed eight rebounds and the visiting Miami Heat defeated the Toronto Raptors 111-102 Wednesday night at their temporary home at Tampa, Fla.
It was the first time the Heat have won two in a row this season, and it ended the Raptors' winning streak at three games. The teams play again on Friday at Tampa.
Goran Dragic added 17 points for the Heat while Kelly Olynyk had 15 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Bam Adebayo had 14 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. Andre Iguodala had 13 points and Duncan Robinson added 14.
Fred VanVleet had 24 points and nine assists for the Raptors, OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam each added 18 points, Terence Davis had 16 points and Kyle Lowry had eight points and 10 rebounds.
The Heat entered the fourth quarter with a five-point lead. They led by 11 points with 6:58 to play when Adebayo nailed a 19-foot jumper. The lead reached 15 points when Iguodala hit a 3-pointer with 2:53 remaining. Anunoby's 3-pointer cut the lead to nine with 1:11 to play.
Miami led 29-23 after the first quarter. Siakam fell awkwardly after making a dunk with 40.8 seconds left in the quarter and went to the locker room. He returned during the second quarter.
The Heat opened an 11-point lead in the first two minutes of the second quarter. Toronto responded with an 8-0 surge.
Davis, who did not play in the first quarter, had 13 points in the second quarter and his dunk gave Toronto a 58-56 halftime lead.
Dragic's layup with 3:07 to play in the third quarter put Miami ahead by four points. The lead reached eight on Iguodala's dunk with 1:11 left. Miami led 88-83 after three quarters.
The Heat were without Avery Bradley, Jimmy Butler and Meyers Leonard (health and safety protocols) along with Tyler Herro (neck spasms).
