Rockets 136, Mavericks 103: Chandler Parsons scored a career-high 32 points on 12-of-13 shooting and had 11 points during the decisive third quarter as host Houston emphatically ended a streak of nine straight losses to Dallas.

James Harden and Jeremy Lin added 21 points apiece for the Rockets, who have won two straight and pulled even with Utah for the No. 7 spot in the Western Conference standings. Houston had 13 steals and scored a season-high 36 fast-break points.

O.J. Mayo scored 18 points and Shawn Marion added 14 for the Mavericks, who lost for the first time in their last five trips to Houston. Dallas has lost four of five overall.

The Rockets led 64-61 at halftime before breaking it open with a blistering third quarter. Houston went 14-for-19 from the field in the period, outscoring the Mavericks 44-17 to take a 30-point advantage into the fourth quarter.

Houston opened the third quarter with a 15-0 run, holding Dallas scoreless for the first 4:53 of the half. The Rockets emptied the bench after Parsons' sixth 3-pointer gave him a career high and made it 114-83 with 8:49 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Rockets were 14-for-34 from 3-point range and have made 10 or more 3s in a game 35 times this season, the most in franchise history. … Houston's 44 points in the third are its most in a quarter this season. The Rockets scored 42 in the second quarter of a 116-109 home loss to Dallas on Dec. 8. … The teams will meet again Wednesday in Dallas to wrap up the season series.
