White Sox 3, Angels 2: Leury Garcia provided the walk-off pinch-hit single in the ninth as host Chicago avoided a three-game sweep against Los Angeles.

Mike Morin (2-2) retired the first batter of the ninth but yielded back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners before Garcia came on and sent a 2-1 fastball into left field to plate Alejandro De Aza with the winning run. Zach Putnam (3-1) grabbed the win in relief of John Danks, who allowed two runs and seven hits while striking out 10 in 7 2/3 frames.

Alexei Ramirez drove in two runs for the White Sox while David Freese and Josh Hamilton homered for the Angels. Tyler Skaggs started for the Angels and surrendered two runs and five hits in 7 2/3 innings before yielding to Morin.

Chicago did not record a hit until Adam Eaton led off the fourth with an infield single. Gordon Beckham followed with a double and Jose Abreu walked to load the bases before the White Sox grabbed the lead two batters later on Ramirez’s two-run single to center.

Los Angeles finally got to Danks in the seventh when Freese drove a 1-1 changeup the opposite way over the wall in right-center. Danks was at 119 pitches with two out in the eighth when Hamilton, who made a great catch at the wall to rob extra bases earlier in the game, belted a 2-0 changeup out to right for the tying run.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Abreu went 1-for-3 to extend his hitting streak to 17 games. … Angels CF Mike Trout went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts to snap a nine-game hitting streak. … The White Sox will take Thursday off before hosting the Seattle Mariners while Los Angeles heads home to host Houston on Thursday.
