Astros 8, White Sox 2: Matt Dominguez hit a pair of two-run homers and Chris Carter also went deep as host Houston claimed its second straight series victory.

Jonathan Villar added two hits and two RBIs before leaving with a bruised right hand as Houston won for the fourth time in five games. Right-hander Brad Peacock (1-4) worked around five hits and four walks to hold Chicago to two runs over 6 2/3 innings and win for the first time since Sept. 11.

John Danks (3-4) surrendered all three Houston homers as he was tagged for eight runs (seven earned) and 10 hits over 4 2/3 innings. Adrian Nieto went 3-for-3 and drove in both runs for Chicago, which has dropped six of eight.

The Astros jumped on Danks early, as Carter's solo shot set off a four-run second inning in which Villar singled home a run, took second on an error, stole third and scored on an errant throw. Dominguez hit his first two-run blast in the third and added another in the fifth to complete his third career multi-homer performance.

The White Sox pushed across a run in the third on Nieto's single and had the bases loaded with no outs, but Gordon Beckham grounded back to the mound and Peacock started a 1-2-3 double play to quiet the rally. Nieto doubled home another run in the seventh, but Josh Fields relieved Peacock and struck out Adam Eaton to strand runners at second and third.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The White Sox placed 1B Jose Abreu (ankle) on the 15-day disabled list prior to the game and activated Eaton. … Houston 2B Jose Altuve extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a leadoff single in the first while CF Dexter Fowler reached base in his 16th straight contest after hitting a leadoff double in the third. … Fowler has drawn a walk in eight consecutive games, the longest streak by a Houston player since Morgan Ensberg drew a free pass in nine straight from Aug. 2-11, 2006.
