Giants 10, Padres 1: Buster Posey drove in five runs and Chad Gaudin tossed five-plus innings as visiting San Francisco posted consecutive victories for the first time in nearly a month.

Chase Headley doubled in a run to give San Diego a first-inning lead before the Giants pulled even with a run in the third and moved ahead on Pablo Sandoval’s RBI double in the fifth. Gaudin (3-1) allowed three hits for San Francisco, which won back-to-back games for the first time since June 18-19.

The Giants drew clear with three runs in the sixth when Marco Scutaro singled in a run and Posey followed with a two-run single off Tim Stauffer. Scutaro went 3-for-4 with two RBIs as San Francisco matched a season high with 17 hits.

Padres starter Sean O’Sullivan (0-1) yielded two runs on six hits over five innings in his first major-league start since Sept. 27, 2011. San Diego lost for the 17th time in its last 20 games despite activating starting infielders Jedd Gyorko and Yonder Alonso from the disabled list before the contest.

Brandon Crawford went 3-for-4 with two doubles for the Giants, who sent 11 batters to the plate in the seventh and scored five runs on five hits. San Francisco, which won for the third time in its last 11 games, began the day having scored a major-league worst 25 runs this month.
