Athletics 10, Angels 8 (19): Oakland's Brandon Moss hit a walk-off two-run homer in the 19th inning to end the longest game in history - 6 hours, 32 minutes - for both teams.
Moss homered twice for the Athletics, who were twice down to their final out before rallying. Josh Donaldson contributed three hits and two RBIs and Jerry Blevins (2-0), the last relief pitcher available for Oakland, worked the final 1 2/3 innings in a game featuring 597 pitches.
The Athletics rallied from a five-run deficit against the Angels' bullpen by scoring four times in the eighth followed by a two-out RBI single by Yoenis Cespedes in the ninth to hand Ernesto Frieri a blown save. Barry Enright (0-1) took the loss after pitching the final 1 2/3 innings for Los Angeles.
Oakland left-hander Brett Anderson, the original scheduled starter who was scratched Sunday because of an ankle injury, threw 5 1/3 innings in his first career relief appearance, walking in a run in the 15th inning to give the Angels an 8-7 lead before limping off the mound with one out in the 18th after re-injuring the ankle. Angels right-hander Jerome Williams came out for his sixth inning of relief in the 15th, when Oakland tied the score on Adam Rosales' two-out RBI single.
Albert Pujols had four hits for the Angels, including two solo home runs - his first since April 7, and drove in three runs, and Mark Trumbo had three hits, including a solo homer, and drove in a season-high three runs. Angels starter Tommy Hanson threw six innings, allowing two runs and five hits, but was denied his third victory this season when Oakland rallied.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Angels CF Peter Bourjos left in the 11th inning after suffering a left hamstring strain while running out a sacrifice bunt, and rookie 3B Luis Jimenez left in the eighth with a shin contusion. … Oakland OF Coco Crisp did not come out for the 14th inning after straining his left hamstring and OF Chris Young left in the 15th with a strained right quad. The injuries and length of game forced Blevins to bat in the 18th. He struck out. ... Trumbo led off the second with a home run estimated at 475 feet, equaling the longest in the majors this season.
