Angels 4, Astros 2: Erick Aybar had two hits and two RBIs to lift visiting Los Angeles to its fourth consecutive victory.
Mike Trout had an RBI single and pinch runner Peter Bourjos scored the go-ahead run on a throwing error in the eighth to back 6 1/3 innings of one-run ball from Jerome Williams. Dane De La Rosa (3-1) retired both batters he faced in the seventh for the win before Ernesto Frieri notched his 20th save despite giving up a run in the ninth.
Astros starter Bud Norris, who already has beaten Los Angeles three times this season, yielded an unearned run on four hits in seven innings. He struck out five and walked one but saw his winless streak reach five starts.
Hank Conger led off the eighth inning with a double and Aybar drew a walk from reliever Paul Clemens (4-3) before J.B. Shuck hit a deep fly to center. Both runners tagged on the play, but shortstop Ronny Cedeno threw wildly to second to allow Bourjos to score for a 2-1 lead.
Los Angeles tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the ninth on Aybar's two-run single off Hector Ambriz. Jason Castro belted a leadoff homer in the fourth and J.D. Martinez had three hits for Houston.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Trout's run-scoring single was his eighth RBI in the last six games. He also made a leaping catch in the seventh inning to preserve a 1-1 tie. ... Norris lowered his ERA to 0.32 in four starts against the Angels, having allowed one run in 28 innings. ... Astros OF Justin Maxwell passed his concussion test Thursday and was cleared to return to the lineup, although manager Bo Porter opted not to start him.
