Reds 4, Braves 1: Mike Leake pitched eight strong innings and hit his first career home run to earn his first win of the year and lead host Cincinnati to its third straight victory.

Leake (1-5) allowed only two hits, one of them a home run by former teammate Juan Francisco, struck out six and walked one in improving his career record against Atlanta to 2-0. He retired 14 straight batters from the second inning through the top of the seventh.

Sean Marshall, who entered the game with runners on first and second in the ninth, retired Jason Heyward on a pop fly to right field and earned his eighth save.

Leake homered to deep left to break a 1-1 tie and put the Reds ahead to stay. His blast was followed by home runs from Zack Cozart and Drew Stubbs, his second of the game. It was the first time the Reds have gone back-to-back-to- back since Sept. 10, 2011, in Colorado.

All of the damage was done off Atlanta lefty Mike Minor (3-3), who allowed five hits, four of them home runs, in six innings. Minor has not won since April 19 and saw his ERA jump to 6.96.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New Reds closer Aroldis Chapman was arrested early Monday on charges of speeding and driving with a suspended license. Chapman was not available Monday night after pitching in four of the last five games. ... Atlanta’s Michael Bourn entered the game 5-for-16 against Leake, but went 0-for-4 on Monday. ... The Reds are using special bases during this four-game series that honor retiring Atlanta slugger Chipper Jones. The sides of the bases have a patch that reads: “Celebrating the Career of No. 10 Chipper Jones.” … Reds reliever Jose Arredondo had a streak of retiring 14 consecutive batters come to an end when he walked Dan Uggla and Brian McCann with two outs in the ninth, a stretch of wildness which caused him to be pulled in favor of Marshall.
