Jordan Murphy recorded his 18th double-double of the season, scoring 23 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, to lead the Minnesota to an 84-63 Big Ten Conference victory over the Indiana on Saturday at Minneapolis.

Gabe Kalscheur added 20 points on 7 of 10 from the field for the Golden Gophers, including 6-for-8 on 3-point attempts. Amir Coffey scored 18 points, pulled down six rebounds and recorded a game-high seven assists.

Juwan Morgan led the Hoosiers with 14 points and eight rebounds. Romeo Langford, Indiana's leading scorer entering the game at 17.6 points per game, was held to 10 points, taking only six field-goal attempts.

Something had to give as both teams came in on losing streaks. Minnesota (17-9, 7-8 Big Ten) snapped a four-game skid while Indiana (13-12, 4-10) lost its third straight and ninth in its last 10 games.

Murphy scored 17 points in the first half, while the Golden Gophers also got nine points from both Coffey and Kalscheur to take a 42-30 lead into intermission.

The Golden Gophers came out on fire in the second half with Kalscheur connecting on a pair of jumpers, one from 3-point range, to give Minnesota a 57-40 lead. De'Ron Davis finally got the Hoosiers on the board with second-chance layup with 17:28 to play.

Kalscheur scored 11 second-half points, while Minnesota made 51 percent of its second-half shots and went 7-for-14 from 3 as the lead grew to 80-50 on a layup by Coffey with 5:21 remaining.

Coming into the game, the Golden Gophers were ranked No. 338 in 3-point field goals made with 130. Against Indiana, Minnesota made 12 of 22 attempts from beyond the arc and used its long-range shooting to take control of the game.

The tone was set early with the shot-clock winding down as Minnesota big man Daniel Oturu took the first 3-point attempt of his career. The shot rattled around the rim and fell, giving the Golden Gophers the lead for good at 8-6.

Two more 3-pointers, that both banked off the backboard, were part of a 15-3 run giving Minnesota a 23-11 lead.

Indiana got as close as five on a Devonte Green's 3-pointer with less than five to go in the first half, but the Golden Gophers scored the next seven points to regain control.
