No. 5 Wisconsin 71, Michigan 60:
Sam Dekker tallied 17 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals as the Badgers downed the Wolverines in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten tournament in Chicago.

Frank Kaminsky contributed 16 points and 12 rebounds for top-seeded Wisconsin (29-3), which was called for a season-low five fouls and won the battle of the boards 34-19. Bronson Koenig scored 12 points while Nigel Hayes added 11 points and nine boards to help the Badgers advance to the semifinals for the fourth straight season, where they will face No. 4 seed Purdue on Saturday.

Zak Irvin led the way with 21 points, 11 rebounds and three steals for ninth-seeded Michigan (16-16), which fell for the eighth time in 11 contests despite shooting 51.9 percent from the field and committing only five turnovers. Ricky Doyle chipped in 10 of his 12 points in the second half while Spike Albrecht scored all 10 of his points before the break.

Albrecht (10) and Irvin (eight) combined for 18 points as Michigan opened the game by hitting nine of its first 15 shots – including four 3-pointers – to race out to a 22-13 advantage less than 12 minutes into the contest. The Wolverines managed only more two field goals before intermission, however, and Wisconsin closed out the first half with an 18-4 surge, getting six straight points from Dekker to begin the run and back-to-back 3-pointers by Koenig to end it.

Michigan countered with an 8-0 run after Wisconsin extended the margin to seven in the opening moments of the second half, but the Badgers finally gained control and pulled ahead 61-56 following consecutive buckets from Kaminsky and a triple from Dekker with less than four minutes remaining. Dekker knocked down a pair of free throws with 2½ minutes left while Koenig, Josh Gasser and Kaminsky all added two foul shots down the stretch to preserve the victory.
