Turner finished with 12 points, nine assists and seven rebounds and Marcus Thornton scored 14 off the bench for the Celtics, who have won four of their last five. Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart added 11 points apiece for Boston, which won despite shooting 32.3 percent from the field.
Al Horford tallied 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Hawks, who had won 13 straight against Eastern Conference opponents. DeMarre Carroll scored 14 points, Paul Millsap had 11 and Jeff Teague contributed 10 points and eight assists for Atlanta.
Atlanta led 79-65 with 7:43 to play, but the Celtics rattled off eight straight points to make a game of it and pulled within one on Bradley's 3-pointer with 1:39 left. After two empty trips from the Hawks and one from the Celtics, Turner took Carroll one-on-one and hit the game-winner.
The Celtics missed 10 of their first 11 shots as Atlanta raced to a 16-2 lead behind eight early points from Horford. The Hawks led by as many as 18 in the half before Thornton's 3-pointer in the final minute pulled Boston within 49-34 at the break.
