Celtics 101, 76ers 90: Brandon Bass scored a season-best 23 points off the bench as visiting Boston handed Philadelphia its 11th consecutive loss.
Jared Sullinger had 22 points and nine rebounds and Rajon Rondo had 13 assists for the Celtics. Marcus Thornton scored 13 points and Jeff Green had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Tony Wroten had 21 points and seven assists off the bench as the 76ers moved closer to the franchise-worst 0-15 start of the 1972-73 squad. Henry Sims scored 14 points while Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and Michael Carter-Williams scored 11 points apiece.
Wroten’s basket moved the 76ers within 94-86 with 2:48 remaining before Sullinger answered with a two-point basket and a 3-pointer to make it a 13-point margin. Philadelphia was unable to make a final charge as it dropped to 0-4 at home.
The 76ers led by nine early in the second quarter but the Celtics recovered to take the lead and the score was tied at 46 at the break. Boston used a 9-0 run early in the third to take a seven-point lead but Wroten’s halfcourt buzzer-beater pulled Philadelphia within 73-68 entering the final stanza.
