Pacers 113, Hawks 98: Paul George collected 27 points and eight rebounds and George Hill scored 22 as host Indiana took a 2-0 lead over Atlanta in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference series.
Roy Hibbert and Gerald Green added 15 points apiece for the Pacers. The series shifts to Atlanta for Game 3 on Saturday.
Devin Harris scored 17 points and Josh Smith and Jeff Teague had 16 apiece for the Hawks, who have allowed a total of 220 points in the first two games.
Atlanta shot 52.6 percent in the first half but still trailed 59-50 at the break after Indiana reserve D.J. Augustin knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in an 8-4 burst heading into the break. Hill opened the third quarter with a 3-pointer and the Pacers pushed it out to 71-57 less than four minutes into the second half.
Indiana responded every time the Hawks tried to make a run in the second half and never let the lead slip below eight points. Hill scored nine points during a 15-1 burst that extended the lead to 110-86 with 3:55 left before the Pacers emptied the bench.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Indiana is up 2-0 in a series for the first time since the 2004 Eastern Conference semifinals. … Pacers G Lance Stephenson suffered a back injury in the first half but returned after the break and ended up with four points in 18 minutes. … Atlanta struggled to 11-for-20 from the free-throw line and was outrebounded 47-41.
