Chris Copeland added 22 points in his fourth start of the campaign as the Knicks snapped New Orleans' season-high four-game winning streak and beat the Hornets for the eighth time in nine meetings.
Steve Novak buried three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter - including a pair in a game-breaking 11-0 run - and Amar'e Stoudemire had 12 points as New York averted a third straight home loss.
Eric Gordon scored 12 of his 22 points in the opening 12 minutes and rookie Anthony Davis added 13 for New Orleans, which struggled from the perimeter and connected on only 4 of 23 attempts from behind the arc.
Anthony had only two points on 1-for-8 shooting in the opening quarter, but he scored all of New York's points in a 16-7 run over the final 4:37 of the first half to give the Knicks a 49-41 edge at the break. New York led by five early in the fourth before Novak hit from long range twice in an 11-0 spurt that built the lead to 84-68.
