Spurs 110, Jazz 100: Tony Parker had 24 points and 10 assists and Danny Green scored 21 points to help host San Antonio start 3-0 for the first time in five years.
Tim Duncan added 19 points and 11 rebounds as the Spurs built a 19-point second-quarter lead and then finished with a flourish after the Jazz rallied back to tie the contest.
Mo Williams had 29 points and nine assists for Utah and scored 11 points during a 13-0 quarter-ending run that saw the Jazz knot the score at 79-79 entering the final quarter.
After Al Jefferson’s basket had Utah within 97-94 with 4:16 to play, the Spurs went on a 11-4 run and pushed the lead to 108-98 on a 3-pointer by Kawhi Leonard with 1:12 remaining.
Paul Millsap had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Jazz, who received 16 points from Jefferson and 15 from Gordon Hayward.
GAME NOTEBOOK: San Antonio guard Manu Ginobili (back) played for the first time this season and had eight points in 16 minutes off the bench. … Utah hit 19 of 22 free throws, with Williams sinking all nine of his attempts. … The Spurs shot 74.3 percent in the first half en route to a 62-44 lead. San Antonio finished at 56.8 percent.
