THUNDER 118, KINGS 110: Kevin Durant scored 32 points in the first three quarters as host Oklahoma City defeated Sacramento.
Daequan Cook scored all 19 of his points in the final quarter for the Thunder, who were without sixth man James Harden because of the concussion he suffered taking an elbow from Metta World Peace of the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.
DeMarcus Cousins scored 32 points for Sacramento, which lost for the 10th time in 12 games. Cousins was able to play against Oklahoma City after the NBA rescinded one of his 13 technical fouls earlier Tuesday.
Jason Thompson scored 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting for the Kings, who received a season-high 20 points from Travis Outlaw and 18 from Tyreke Evans.
Royal Ivey’s jumper with three minutes left snapped 102-102 tie and put the Thunder ahead to stay.
Oklahoma City trailed 86-82 entering the final quarter and relied on reserves to fight off the Kings. The Thunder have already clinched the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference and neither Durant nor guard Russell Westbrook played in the final quarter.
Cook scored the Thunder’s first 14 points of the fourth quarter, including three 3-pointers as Oklahoma City took a 96-92 lead with 7:56 to play. His fourth and final 3-pointer of the quarter gave the Thunder a 114-107 lead with 44.9 seconds left.
Westbrook scored 13 points for the Thunder.
Sacramento led 59-57 at halftime after shooting 58.1 percent from the field. The Kings shot 52.4 percent overall.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Cousins drew the 13th technical in Sunday’s game against the Charlotte Bobcats and avoided a one-game suspension when it was rescinded. … It hasn’t yet been decided when Harden will return but it appears he will sit out Wednesday’s regular-season finale against the Denver Nuggets. … Kings guard Marcus Thornton (quadriceps) missed his third straight game. … The Thunder hit 33 of 36 free throws.
