Monta Ellis scored 32 points and the Golden State Warriors held off a late rally to post a 99-92 victory over the visiting Dallas Mavericks on Saturday night.
David Lee added 16 points as the Warriors (33-44) ended a six-game losing streak against Dallas and sent the Mavs (53-23) to their second straight loss.
Shawn Marion scored 21 points, Jason Terry had 17 points and Jose Juan Barea added 13 and 11 assists as Dallas' bench accounted for 56 points. Dirk Nowitzki finished with 16 points on 5-of-16 shooting.
Ellis, who was considered questionable with an ankle injury, turned the momentum in Golden State's favor with a spectacular third-quarter scoring burst. He poured in 11 straight points in 81 seconds to cap a 13-0 spurt that gave the Warriors a 68-57 lead.
The Mavericks trailed by 12 with 4:58 to go but got six points from Terry in a 13-4 run to pull within 91-88 with 2:28 left. That's as close as they got as Stephen Curry buried a 3-pointer to restore the lead to six.
