Reserve J.J. Barea scored 15 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, including a key 3-pointer with 1:31 to go, as the Dallas Mavericks won their 10th straight game, a 102-100 victory over the host Sacramento Kings on Wednesday.
Barea’s basket gave Dallas a 100-95 lead, and the Mavericks (37-15) won their 16th straight game against the Pacific Division, including seven this season.
Tyreke Evans, the 2010 Rookie of the Year, had 16 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists to just miss his second career triple-double for the Kings (12-37), who have lost eight straight to the Mavericks and 10 of 11 overall.
Jason Terry scored 22 points and Jason Kidd had 14, eight rebounds and five assists for Dallas, which improved to 18-5 against sub-.500 teams.
Mavericks All-Star Dirk Nowitzki, who injured his wrist Monday against Cleveland, had just 10 points on 4-for-14 shooting in 34 minutes.
Samuel Dalembert scored 20 points and rookie DeMarcus Cousins had 19 and 15 rebounds for Sacramento, which has lost four straight.
Evans had eight points, five assists and five rebounds in the first quarter as the Kings took a 28-20 lead. But Terry scored 10 straight Dallas points during a 27-8 surge that helped the Mavs open a 56-47 halftime advantage.
Cousins had 12 points and six rebounds in the third quarter as the Kings cut a nine-point halftime deficit to one.
