Jorge Soler highlighted a four-run seventh inning with a three-run homer and the host Atlanta Braves came from behind to beat San Francisco 6-5 and end the Giants' five-game winning streak.
Trailing 4-2, the Braves scored a run on Ozzie Albies' 33rd double, which set up Soler's deep three-run shot to left-center on the first pitch he saw from Zack Littell. It was Soler's 19th homer and his sixth since joining Atlanta at the trade deadline.
The win ended Atlanta's two-game losing streak.
The winning pitcher was reliever A.J. Minter (2-4), who worked a scoreless seventh. The left-hander has not allowed a run in six appearances since he was recalled from Triple-A. Luke Jackson pitched a scoreless eighth.
Closer Will Smith gave up a solo homer to Wilmer Flores to open the ninth but retired the next three batters to earn his 29th save. The game ended when center fielder Joc Pederson caught Tommy La Stella's long fly against the fence.
The losing pitcher was Tony Watson (5-4), who was charged with three runs in one-third of an inning.
Neither starter was involved in the decision. Atlanta's Max Fried pitched six innings and allowed four runs, three earned, on five hits with five strikeouts. San Francisco's Kevin Gausman threw six innings and allowed two runs on six hits with two strikeouts.
San Francisco's Buster Posey hit a two-run homer in the first inning to give the Giants a quick 2-0 lead. Posey, a Georgia native, has been dealing with a sore left knee and missed the last two games.
The Giants tacked on a run to make it 3-0 in the second. Catcher Travis d'Arnaud was charged with a throwing error on Gausman's sacrifice bunt, which allowed Mike Yastrzemski to score.
Atlanta got on the board in the bottom of the second when Adam Duvall hit a solo homer, his 28th, and cut the lead to 3-2 on Austin Riley's RBI single in the third.
The Giants increased the lead to 4-2 in the fourth when La Stella doubled home Thairo Estrada.
