Christian Yelich and Omar Narvaez hit back-to-back homers in the eighth inning and the surging Milwaukee Brewers won their third straight, 7-5 over the Arizona Diamondbacks, who extended their club record road losing streak to 16 games on Saturday.
Tied at 5, Yelich went opposite field over the left-field fence off Joakim Soria (0-2) to put Milwaukee up by one. Narvaez followed with his third hit of the game, a homer into the right field seats for the final scoring margin.
Willy Adames also clubbed a two-run homer for the Brewers, who have homered nine times while winning the first three of this four-game set.
Milwaukee has won eight of nine overall.
Josh Rojas recorded his first two-homer game for the Diamondbacks, who rallied from a 5-2 hole but dropped to 5-27 since May 4. Their last road victory came April 25.
Trailing 2-0, Milwaukee loaded the bases with nobody out in the fourth and Arizona starter Merrill Kelly was one strike away from getting out unscathed. However, a passed ball by catcher Stephen Vogt scored Daniel Vogelbach, and Tyrone Taylor blooped a single to left that scored two.
Adames made it a 5-2 game with his homer in the sixth, but Arizona got even in the seventh against Milwaukee reliever Brent Suter. Rojas, who opened the game with a homer, cleared the left-center field wall. Then with a man on, Eduardo Escobar delivered a shot to nearly the same location.
Milwaukee starter Brandon Woodruff had pitched 14 scoreless innings over his previous two starts but allowed a homer to the first batter of the game when Rojas went deep to center field. Woodruff yielded two runs and six hits but struck out nine while lasting just five innings.
Josh Reddick's RBI double into the right-field corner off Woodruff in the fourth gave Arizona its 2-0 lead. Kelly allowed five runs -- four earned -- with six hits and a walk in six innings. He struck out four.
Devin Williams (2-0) pitched the eighth inning for the win and Josh Hader secured his 14th save.
